FRAS (Fire Resistant and Anti-Static) Rubber is a premium grade of specialised rubber specially formulated to be suitable for use in applications where ignition points and fire potential are deemed to be high risk. Consisting of a specialised formulation of SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber), our standard grade of FRAS rubber is typically 65 Duro in hardness (Shore A, ±5) though other hardnesses can be provided upon request.
FRAS rubber displays good resistance to heat (typically used in applications between -25ºC and 90ºC) and ozone. This premium grade of rubber also exhibits good resistance to abrasion and a high tear strength. This tough and durable rubber is often used for the manufacture of conveyor curtains and skirting, belt scrapers and gaskets for demanding applications. It is also widely employed in underground mines and other high risk areas where any potential for sparks must be eliminated.
Available Sizes
AG offers our FRAS rubber in standard thicknesses ranging from 1.5mm through to 19mm with others also available upon request. This high quality material is available by the roll, metre or in custom slit tape or fully fabricated component form.
