Neoprene Cotton Insertion rubber is a made using premium grade neoprene rubber sheet which is reinforced with a cotton fabric insertion. The number of layers of insertion varies depending on the overall thickness of the material with, generally, thickness of 3mm and below containing one ply of cotton reinforcement and 4.5mm and up containing two. Regardless of the number of plies used, the cotton insertion serves to increase the tear strength of the rubber and increase its dimensional stability.
AG’s Neoprene Cotton Insertion rubber is available in 65 (±5) Shore A as standard (other hardnesses are available upon request). This black rubber is used in applications with temperatures between -25ºC and 90º and offers good resistance to UV, weathering and abrasion. Neoprene also possesses moderate resistance to oil and petroleum products which allows this gasket to be used in a range of low pressure sealing applications.
AG’s Neoprene Cotton Insertion is available in a range of different thicknesses, sizes and forms. Our roll stock is offered in 1.5mm, 3mm, 4.5mm and 6mm as standard, with other thicknesses available upon request. Usual roll length is 10mtrs. Of course, as with all our other grades of rubber, AG can also provide custom fabricated components made using this material. Our extensive fabrication facilities can produce slit rubber rolls, cut gaskets, strips or precisely cut components to suit your custom dimensions.
