Weicon Easy-Mix PE-PP 45 Epoxy Adhesive is a two-part, methyl acrylate based adhesive that has been specially engineered to create fast, high strength bonds on low surface energy plastics. It is commonly known that most adhesives struggle to bond low energy plastics such as Polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and other thermoplastic elastomers without the use of a pre-treatments such as grinding, sandblasting or fluorination which can make bonding these materials a lengthy and expensive process. Easy-mix PE-PP 45 eliminates the need to pre-treat the surface as the built in primer activates the surface through a chemical interaction between the plastic and the adhesive making high-strength bonding possible. This high quality adhesive can form bonds between PE & PP at strengths up to material fracture.

To create such high-strength bonds, Weicon Easy-Mix PE-PP 45 utilizes additives (glass beads) integrated into the adhesive that ensure a minimum adhesive layer thickness of 0.15mm – 0.2mm is maintained allowing the chemical reaction to occur between the adhesive and the material being bonded.

Easy-Mix PE-PP is pasty when applied and when cures displays good residual elasticity. It can also be used to bond a wide variety of other plastic types such as PVC, Polyamide, Polycarbonate and some Fibre Reinforced Materials.

Easy-Mix PE-PP 45 comes in an easy to use 45ml double barrel cartridge pack, complete with special nozzle which mixes the product inside the nozzle in perfect proportion and eliminates the need to mix the product after it has been dispensed. The product should be dispensed using professional quality dispensing equipment and extra mixing nozzles are available from AG upon request.
