AR Series Refrasil Cloth is a specially produced grade of high temperature insulation which has been treated with an abrasion resistant coating. Because of this enhanced abrasion resistance, AG offers the AR series Refrasil Cloth for applications where the material is likely to encounter dragging, scraping, tearing or snagging.
As the coating also increases the seam strength of the AR series (compared to our standard UC Series Refrasil Cloth), AG often employs this grade in our fabrication and sewing of high temperature curtains, blankets, covers and wraps.
AG offers AR series Refrasil Cloth in two different thicknesses, 0.8mm & 1.4mm and can be identified by its rusty orange colour. AR Refrasil Cloth is rated for use in applications ranging up to 982ºC and, whilst there will be some loss of the coating from prolonged exposure to temperatures below this mark, only the abrasion resistance of the fabric will be affected, not the overall insulating performance.
