Poroband PIN 2851 is manufactured from a porous mica paper which is based on uncalcined muscovite with aramid fibres and a glass cloth carrier. This mica paper is covered with a thin polyimide film and all layers are bonded using a specially modified epoxy resin. The result is a highly flexible, high temperature insulation tape used for the continuous insulation of coils and bars insulated using a VPI system.

Highly flexible with excellent electrical characteristics, Poroband PIN 2851 can be used in applications rated up to 200ºC depending on the VPI resin employed. This high quality insulation is available from AG by the roll, metre or in custom sized tape form. Full rolls of Poroband PIN 2851 are 980mm wide and can be slit to widths as narrow as 10mm by AG to allow for easy application and minimal wastage.
