Nomex 410 is a high quality calendered insulation paper which offers high dielectric strength, mechanical toughness, flexibility and outstanding resilience. Manufactured by DuPont®, this is the original form of Nomex® paper and it has been widely used in electrical applications for decades. AG offers this high quality insulation material in an extensive range of thicknesses and forms and can even supply it in custom fabricated insulation components to suit the needs of your application.
The combination of outstanding electrical properties, mechanical strength and thermal endurance (UL recognised as 220ºC insulation) have led to Nomex 410 being employed in a wide range of applications. Nomex® is used in everything from small electric motors to large transformers and stators. It has even been employed as a washer material and a drum skin where its mechanical strength and durability were tested and found to be outstanding.
This combination of benefits is enhanced even further through Nomex 410’s compatibility with virtually all classes of electrical varnishes and adhesives as well as transformer fluids, lubricating oils and refrigerants. Common industrial solvents have a slight softening and swelling effect on Nomex 410, similar to water, though this is mainly reversible when the solvent is removed.
Available Sizes
AG carries enormous stock of Nomex 410 paper and can quickly supply by the roll, metre or kilogram. Most rolls are 914mm wide though some extra wide stock is available in a select range of thicknesses. AG offers a full selection of thicknesses of Nomex 410 with stock ranging from 0.05mm (0.002”) through to 0.76mm (0.030”).
Complementing this exhaustive range of raw material, AG can also supply Nomex 410 in custom fabricated form. Slit tapes, adhesive backed paper, folded components and intricately cut items can all be arranged and delivered quickly by speaking with your AG branch.
