Epirez 8837 is an epoxy based, 2 part, encapsulating and casting compound with good electrical insulating characteristics and strong mechanical properties. It can be used to cast thicknesses of up to 15cm in single pours and, when cured, offers high impact resistance and dimensional stability.

Epirez 8837 also has a low mixed viscosity and low exotherm. This high quality yet very economical grade of epoxy resin can be hardened at room temperature (though this process can be accelerated by applying a heat source). It is grey in colour when mixed.

The combination of mechanical strength and superior electrical properties offered by Epirez 8837 has led to it being used in a wide range of applications. These include the preparation of prototype jigs and moulds, the insulation of joins on communications cable, encapsulation of power transformers and power cable jointing and terminating.

AG offers Epirez 8837 in standard, 6KG kits (3.7 litres approx.). Each kit contains hardener and compound in correct proportions for use. The shelf life of Epirez 8837 is approximately 2 years under normal conditions.
