Weicon Plastic Metal TI is a premium grade of plastic metal made from titanium filled epoxy resin. Like the other grades in this range, Plastic Metal TI is easy to use and sets hard. What sets this grade apart is its outstanding temperature resistance (-35ºC to 200ºC) and excellent pressure resistance properties. Because of this, Weicon Plastic Metal TI is used in extremely demanding applications.
Weicon Plastic Metal TI can be applied in layers up to 10mm thick and will be cured enough to handle mechanical loads in approximately 16 hours (full cure will take about 24 hours). This high quality repair compound cures with very little shrinkage (0.02%).
This grade also exhibits excellent resistance to attack from a variety of chemicals and media leading to is used in a plethora of different applications. These include:
- Repairs to pumps and valves
- Permanent repairs and reconditioning of wear plates, ball bearing seats
- Fixing shafts and propellers
- Lining of pump housings and slide bearings
Once completely cured, Weicon Plastic Metal TI sets hard. Tests conducted in accordance with DIN 53281-83 requirements found that fully cured Plastic Metal TI had a hardness of 80 Shore D, a compressive strength of 105 MPa and a mean tensile strength of 35 MPa.
Available Sizes
Weicon Plastic Metal TI is available in two different size kits from AG: 0.5kg and 2kg. Both sizes contain the correct proportions of resin and activator as well as a pair of disposable gloves, instructions and a plastic mixing and application spatula.
To make mixing simple and easy, extra space has been left in the resin container so that the activator can be added and mixed.
