Weicon Plastic Metal ST is a specialised grade of plastic metal that is easy to use and sets hard. This two part component has a pasty consistency and is made from metal filled epoxy resin. Weicon Plastic Metal ST is specifically designed for use on stainless steel parts and is non-corrosive.
Plastic Metal ST can be applied in layers up to 10mm thick and will be cured enough to handle mechanical loads in approximately 9 hours (full cure will take about 12 hours). This high quality repair compound cures with very little shrinkage (0.02%).
Because of its excellent adhesion, non-corrosive nature and long lasting performance, Weicon Plastic Metal ST is used in a variety of applications. These include:
- Repairs to Stainless Steel Parts and Components
- Patching of Stainless Steel Tanks and Piping
- Repairs to Stainless Steel Containers, Funnels and Flanges.
Once completely cured, Weicon Plastic Metal ST sets hard. Tests conducted in accordance with DIN 53281-83 requirements found that fully cured Plastic Metal SD had a hardness of 80 Shore D, a compressive strength of 80 MPa and a mean tensile strength of 27 MPa.
This grade of plastic metal is grey in coloured once cured and is used in applications where temperatures are between -35ºC and 120ºC.
Available Sizes
Weicon Plastic Metal ST is available in two different size kits from AG: 0.5kg and 2kg. Both sizes contain the correct proportions of resin and activator as well as a pair of disposable gloves, instructions and a plastic mixing and application spatula.
To make mixing simple and easy, extra space has been left in the resin container so that the activator can be added and mixed.
