Weicon Plastic Metal B is a high quality, universal style liquid that sets like steel. This two part compound exhibits a combination of strength, adhesion and long lasting performance. It is readily shaped, formed or moulded into any shape.
Engineered to provide high strength and long lasting performance, Weicon Plastic Metal B has a highly viscous nature (200,000 mPa.s) making it perfect for moulding and the forming of irregular shapes. Some potential applications for this quality compound include:
- Highly detailed reproductions in mould and model making
- Making tools and templates, gauges and fixtures
- Filling blowholes and micro porosities on castings
- General repair works where a castable compound is required
Weicon Plastic Metal B is dark grey in colour and can be applied in maximum layer thicknesses of 10mm. This compound has a pot life of 60 minutes and is fully cured after about 24 hours. It cures with very little shrinkage (0.03%) which allows for highly accurate forming and application.
Once cured, Weicon Plastic Metal B exhibits high compressive, flexural and tensile strength and has a shore hardness rating of 90 shore D. It is used in applications where temperatures are between -35ºC and 120ºC.
