Weicon Plastic Metal HB 300 is a pasty, steel-filled permanent repair compound designed for high temperature applications. This extremely long-lasting, high quality compound is manufactured from steel filled epoxy resin and is perfect for making repairs to a wide range of metal components and surfaces.
Weicon Plastic Metal HB 300 is easy to use and has a 1:1 mix ratio. Once cured, HB 300 is dark grey in colour.
Typical applications for Weicon Plastic Metal HB 300 include:
- Bonding cast metal parts.
- Filling in blow holes.
- Repairs to cast metal components.
- Repairs to damaged containers, carriages and machine parts.
- Sealing and repairing pumps and pipe equipment.
- Machine construction, engineering and a variety of other industrial applications.
Weicon Plastic Metal HB 300 has a pot life of about 30 minutes (at 20ºC, based on 200gm of mixture) and is fully cured after approximately 24 hours (can handle mechanical loads after 12 hours). It cures with very little shrinkage (0.015%) which allows for precise application.
After complete curing, Weicon Plastic Metal HB 300 will be completely hard. Test results found it to have a Shore D Hardness of 85, a very high compressive strength (100 MPa) and a mean tensile strength of 127MPa (all tested at 25ºC in accordance with DIN 53281-83 requirements).
This high temperature grade of plastic metal is used in applications where continuous temperatures fall between -35ºC and 200ºC (with spikes up to 280ºC).

Weicon Plastic Metal HB 300 is offered in 1kg kits that contain the appropriate portions of resin and hardener as well as a pair of disposable gloves and a plastic mixing spatula. To make mixing simple, space has been left in the resin container so that all of the hardener can be added and mixed.
