A plain weave fibreglass cloth is inserted with a stainless steel wire resulting in a high-strength material capable of service in continuous temperatures as high as 585ºC. This material retains many of the advantages of our fibreglass cloths, excellent solvent and sunlight resistance, good abrasion resistance and excellent chemical resistance, whilst offering additional strength.
It should be noted, however, that the presence of the stainless steel wire does negate any dielectric qualities of the base fabric. Stainless Steel Wire Insert Fibreglass Cloth is commonly used as packing and lagging fabric, boiler gaskets and insulation blankets.
