Nebar Black is a premium grade cork-elastomer. This grade is made using precision cork granules and a nitrile / polychloroprene blended binder.
Designed specifically for sealing applications in turbine generators with hydrogen cooling as well as in transmission and distribution equipment such as switchgear where SF6 gas is used for spark shielding, this cork sheet provides lasting gasket performance.
Previously known as Nebar C947/3; Nebar Black is also suitable for use with a wide range of other media types, these include:
- Air, water and alcohols.
- Hydrogen.
- Fuel and diesel oils.
- Mineral and synthetic lubricating oils.
- Mineral hydraulic fluids.
- Water / glycol emulsion.
- Water / oil emulsion.
- ASTM Oil No 1, IRM 903 Oil, ASTM Fuel A, BS 148 Transformer Oil.
This cork sheet has a maximum operating temperature of 110°C (in liquids) and is used for gaskets with a maximum sealing pressure o f0.5 MPa. Nebar Cork Black also provides strong low temperature capabilities and will remain flexible down to -15°C.
