3M 24 Electrical Shielding Tape is a highly specialised, high quality tape manufactured from two tinned copper wires knitted together using an open weave construction. This all metal, flat braided tape is stable at elevated temperatures, exhibits good oil, corrosion and fire resistance and is unaffected by solvents, UV, ozone and moisture.
Used in both indoor and outdoor environments for the shielding of cable joints on shielded power cables and to make the conductive portion of the stress cone on power cable terminations, 3M™ Scotch™ 24 Electrical Shielding Tape is compatible with all high voltage splicing and termination materials and elongates easily to conform to inclined or uneven surfaces.
The high porosity of 3M 24 Electrical Shielding Tape allows complete resin saturation when splicing. In addition its flat, cable like construction interlocks ensures the tape interlocks with the previous layer and therefore creates a tighter wrap without the need for a solder bead. This all adds up to mean that 3M 24 Electrical Shielding Tape is easy to install and provides high quality, long lasting performance.
3M 24 Electrical Shielding Tape is available from AG in 25.4mm (1”) wide rolls. Rolls of Scotch™ 24 are 0.406mm thick and 4.5Mtrs long. Longer rolls and custom widths may also be arranged upon request.
