3M™ 1170 EMI Shielding Tape is high quality electrical tape manufactured from a combination of dead soft aluminium foil backing and a unique, electrically conductive pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive. 3M™ 1170 Tape is typically used for applications that require excellent electrical conductivity from the application substrate through the adhesive to the foil backing. Common uses include ground and EMI shielding in equipment, components and shielded rooms.
Although there are many factors that determine the true shielding effectiveness of a shielding tape, the typical shielding effectiveness (far field) of 3M 1170 Aluminium EMI Shielding Tape is in the range of 60dB to 75Db (30 MHz to 1 GHz).
