In addition to our comprehensive range of cork sheet stock, we also stock various grades of our cork sealing materials in roll form. This allows for larger gaskets, cork strips, dovetailed gaskets and increased yield for some parts.
In this post we quickly cover the different types of cork stocked in sheet and highlight typical applications for them.
ACN60 Electrical Grade Cork Rolls
Our ACN60 is one of the more popular types of cork. Manufactured with a Nitrile (NBR) Rubber binder, this high density cork is suitable for most transformer applications and compatible with the vast majority dielectric insulating oils.
ACN60 is commonly used for making gaskets and widely used in the transformer manufacture and repair industry.
We are pleased to stock this premium grade cork sealing material in a range of roll sizes. For transformer gaskets, this allows the cork to be cut in strips and can be supplied either with dovetails or without so these can be quickly added on site and fitted.
Standard Sizes of ACN60 Cork Rolls
AG generally stocks ACN60 in rolls in the following thicknesses:
- 0.8mm
- 1.5mm
- 3mm
- 4.8mm
- 6.4mm
- 8mm
- 9.5mm
Roll length varies depending on this thickness though all are available by the metre. All rolls are just over 1 metre wide (exact width varies a little).
NP50 Cork Rolls
NP50 Cork is made with a Neoprene Rubber binder.
Like ACN60, it has strong dielectric strength and is often used for sealing transformers as well as bushings and cable & junction boxes.
NP50 has good all-round sealing capabilities and is widely used for other applications such as radiator gaskets, tank seals and many other gasketing jobs that require a lasting cork gasket for medium bolt loads.
Standard Sizes of NP50 Cork Rolls
NP50 is usually kept in roll form in the following thicknesses:
- 0.8mm
- 1.5mm
- 3mm
- 6.4mm
- 9.5mm
Rolls are 1020mm wide and, again, length varies depending on the thickness with all available by the metre or roll.

MR31 Cork Rolls
Our MR31 Cork is an economical and cost effective grade of industrial cork sheeting.
Unlike the two above, this cork is typically not used for electrical sealing applications but rather as a general-purpose cork gasket sheet.
It is made from a combination of cork granules and a synthetic rubber binder and has good oil resistance and seals well at medium to low bolt loads.
Standard Sizes of MR31 Cork Rolls
MR31 is not kept in as many thicknesses as the above. However, stock is usually available in...
- 3mm
- 4.8mm
Once again, roll length varies. These rolls are a bit wider too; measuring 1340mm.
