Cerafelt is an economical, high quality, high temperature thermal felt that’s versatile enough to be used in a range of applications. As it combines good durability with outstanding heat insulation performance, Cerafelt can be used in situations as diverse as over insulation, high temperature gaskets and as an acoustic insulation sheet.

Cerafelt provides exceptional thermal insulation performance in temperatures ranging up to 1260ºC. This lightweight and flexible material is manufactured from exceptionally pure refractory oxides that are subsequently bonded with an organic binder.

Cerafelt is often utilised as a gasket material in high temperature applications due to its unique ability to resist penetration from both ferrous and non-ferrous molten metals.

In addition to gasket applications, Cerafelt’s low heat storage and thermal conductivity properties have seen it often utilised in the construction of expansion joints for furnaces, kilns and boiler walls. Cerafelt has also been used to provide acoustic insulation in environments that require not only reasonable sound absorption performance, but the ability to withstand high environmental temperatures.
