Weicon Contact Adhesive VA 1500

A one-part, cold curing adhesive with a high viscosity and a slow cure time.

Can be accurately applied to complex shapes, tight areas and flexible surfaces.

VA 1500 is a one-part, cold curing adhesive with a high viscosity (1000-1500 mPa·s) and a slow cure time. The combination of these characteristics allows VA 1500 to be accurately applied to complex shapes, tight areas and flexible surfaces.

Clear in colour, Weicon Contact Adhesive VA 1500 is particularly suited for bonding rubber, plastics and absorbing and porous materials such as wood, cork, leather and ceramics. It can be used for coving gaps up to 0.2mm.

Part of the Ethyl Ester group of Weicon Contact Adhesives, Weicon VA 1500 Adhesive is used in applications where temperatures fall between -50ºC and 80ºC (with spikes up to 100ºC).  Like all Weicon Contact Adhesives, VA 1500 polymerises by reacting with moisture on both the bonding surface and from the air before curing under light pressure.

If used for bonding plastics with particularly adhesive averse surfaces (e.g. polyolefines, PTFE) the surface should be pre-treated with Weicon Contact Adhesive Primer for Polyolefines. Failure to do so will means that the Contact Adhesive cannot anchor itself to the plastic and a strong bond will be unable to form. It is suggested that users familiarise themselves with the TDS for this product before use.

Weicon Contact Adhesive VA 1500 is available from AG 12gm, 30gm, 60gm and 500gm packs. The 12gm, 30gm and 60gm varieties all make use of Weicon’s proprietary pen system that allows for incredibly accurate, easy application, clean processing and improved dosing.
