Weicon Contact Adhesive VM 2000 is a one-part, cold curing adhesive with an extended cure time and a high viscosity (1700-2000 mPa·s). This high quality adhesive’s slower cure time allows for re-alignment of the parts after application which enables high precision bonds to be created.

Weicon Contact Adhesive VM 2000 is a clear liquid and is used in applications where temperatures range from -50ºC and 80ºC (with short-term spikes up to 100ºC). This grade of super glue is used from covering gaps up to 0.2mm in size. It achieves initial adhesion to aluminium in 70-90 seconds and is fully cured after 24 hours.

Part of the Methyl ester based group of Weicon Contact Adhesives, VM 2000 has a small molecule structure with closely position anchoring points which results in it exhibiting low degrees of flexibility after curing. It is particularly suited for bonding metal-to-metal combinations and also exhibits good results when used on porous surfaces (such as cloth, leather or wood).

Available Sizes

Weicon Contact Adhesive VM 2000 is available from AG in 30gm, 60gm and 500gm packs. The 30gm and 60gm varieties both make use of Weicon’s proprietary pen system that allows for incredibly accurate, easy application, clean processing and improved dosing.

Surface Preparation

To ensure a strong bond, surfaces being joined should be clean and dry (Weicon Cleaner S is ideal for cleaning and degreasing surfaces ahead of bonding). When bonding smooth surfaces it may be necessary to mechanically roughen them prior to application of the adhesive.
