AG’s Silicone Coated Fibreglass Sleeving (also known as FyreJacket) is a high density grade of protective sleeving used for the insulation of hoses, wires and cables. This sleeving features a woven fibreglass inner which is totally covered by a solid silicone rubber outer that forms a mechanically-protective barrier and assists with insulation.
Tough yet flexible, this sleeving is used in applications with continuous temperatures between -60ºC and 220ºC, though it will handle short-term spikes up to 300ºC. It also offers good dielectric properties and arc resistance, corona resistance and has flame retardant properties. Silicone Coated Fibreglass Sleeving is resistant to weathering and ozone and withstands attack from most chemicals.
The combination of electrical and thermal insulation combined with its ability to serve as a solid protective casing has led to this sleeving being used in a wide variety of applications. Most commonly, it is employed for the protection of wiring and cables in high temperature environments though it is also employed in automotive and mechanical applications to protect hydraulic hoses and pneumatic lines.
