GFR1 Fibreglass Rope Lagging is a soft, smooth and flexible fibreglass insulation rope which has been manufactured using a core of continuous filament bulked glass which is then overbraided with continuous filament glass yarns. The finished rope offers insulation performance in applications reaching 550ºC along with good tensile strength and low thermal conductivity.
This versatile fibreglass rope offers excellent chemical resistance and also displays outstanding resistance to steam (even when saturated).
The continuous filament bulked glass core of GFR1 assists in enhancing this ropes mechanical strength whilst the soft outside finish makes it easy to work with and apply. When being used as a pipe wrap, the compressibility of the outer layers of GFR1 enable it to be applied in a even manner to create a solid thermal barrier that takes up minimal physical space.
Commonly used as a thermal pipe lagging material it is also often employed in the packing of expansion joints and for general caulking, groove filling and high temperature gasket applications (amongst others).
