Alapin-Wire is a high performance grade of gasket material manufactured from Kevlar® aramid fibres, mineral fibres and a Nitrile-Butadiene (NBR) rubber binder. This mix is then strengthened through the addition of a galvanised steel mesh reinforcement. This steel insert enables Alapin-Wire to effectively seal in applications experiencing fluctuations in pressure.
Alapin-Wire offers high strength, good temperature and pressure resistance and resistance to a wide range of media. This includes water, steam, kerosene, gasoline, fuel and a range of oils. Alapin-Wire is used in applications where temperatures reach 350ºC, though its ability to withstand temperature is (like all gasket materials) affected by pressure and medium. The technical data sheet for this product should be consulted for more information.
Offered exclusively by AG, Alapin-Wire is an economical option for sealing a range of high / fluctuating pressure applications. It is available in 3100mm / 1550mm sheets as standard in both 1.5mm and 3mm thick grades. We can also provide this material in other sheet sizes and specialised thicknesses upon request.
In addition to offering sheet stock, AG’s extensive fabrication facilities allow us to offer high quality Alapin-Wire gaskets in an almost endless range of sizes to suit either standard or non-standard assemblies. Custom gaskets can be produced from dimension lists, sketches, drawings or samples with very little setup and no minimum order quantity. Extra-large gaskets made from Alapin-Wire can be cut in segments completed with dovetail joins to allow for easy assembly and installation on site.
For more information on the full range of available options, or to discuss Alapin-Wire’s suitability for your application, please do not hesitate to contact your local AG.
