3M™ 61 PTFE Film Tape is manufactured from a 0.125mm thick layer of PTFE film (total tape thickness is 0.178mm) and coated on one side with a silicone thermosetting adhesive. Supplied on 3” cores as standard, this tape offers excellent wear and abrasion resistance, is (UL recognised) flame retardant and provides good electrical insulation performance.
3M™ 61 PTFE Film Tape is usually used on high temperature coils, capacitors and wire harnesses which require a tape high in dielectric strength with good resistance to breaking. 61 PTFE Film Tape can be utilised in 180ºC rated electrical application and combines the wear resistance and electrical insulation properties of PTFE with a high temperature adhesive. 61 PTFE film tape is a highly versatile insulation that can be slit by AG to widths ranging from 6mm to 350mm. Standard length rolls are 33mtrs long though other lengths can be provided upon request.
N.B. In addition to the 61 Tape described here, AG also offers 3 other, similar grade of 3M™ PTFE Film Tapes. 60 Tape is a 0.102mm thick variant on 61 whilst 62 Tape is a 0.102mm thick bondable option. 63 Tape is manufactured from the same thickness film (0.051mm) as 60 Tape but has an acrylic adhesive.
