Weiconlock AN 305-78 Pipe and Thread Sealer is a specialised grade of anaerobic adhesive that’s been designed for larger sized threaded joints and pipes made from passive materials. Using normal adhesives to lock passive materials usually results in slow cure times and, potentially, weakened bonds. Weiconlock AN 305-78 has been engineered to avoid these problems and is used to strongly lock screws and bolts made from materials such as:
- High-Alloyed Steel
- Aluminium, Nickel, Zinc, Gold
- Oxide Layers
- Chromate Layers
- Anodic Coatings
- Plastics and Ceramics
Weiconlock AN 305-78 carries DVGW approval for use in sealing gas and BAM approval for oxygen service. This grade is yellow in colour and cures with a medium-level strength that means that any connections sealed with 305-78 will have to be disassembled with normal tools. Weiconlock AN 305-78 Pipe and Thread Sealer has a high viscosity which allows for accurate application around larger threaded joints up to M 80 (R 3”).
|For Threaded Joints Up To||M 80 (R 3″)|
|Viscosity at 25ºC Brookfield||50,000 – 80,000 mPas|

|Final Strength at Room Temp.||4 – 8 Hours|
|Temperature Resistance||-60ºC to +150ºC|
Weiconlock AN 305-78 Anaerobic Adhesive is available from your local Associated Gaskets branch in 50ml or 200ml bottles. These special pen shaped bottles allow for easy, accurate application while the base minimises the chances of any spillage.
Generally speaking, Weiconlock AN 305-78 Pipe and Thread Sealer does not require pre-treatment of the surface as even slightly oily surfaces cab still be adhered. That being said, best results will be achieved on cleaned and degreased surfaces (Weicon Surface Cleaner is ideal for this task). If required the parts should be slightly roughened.
Weiconlock AN 305-78 is ready to use from the moment you open the bottle. It should be evenly applied direct from the bottle/tube with the dispensing tip (avoid direct contact between the dispensing tip and metal). Weiconlock AN 305-78 should be applied evenly around the thread.
Do not pour any excess Weiconlock fluid that has made contact with metal back into the bottle. Even the smallest metal particles will cause the contents of the bottle to cure once the lid is re-closed. In series construction or production line situations, the use of manual or automatic applicators is suggested. For full use instructions, please consult the TDS & SDS for this product (both of which can be provided by your local AG branch).
