Our Black Gasket Maker Silicone is a quality, one-part adhesive sealant most often used for making formed in place gaskets.
Manufactured by Weicon in Germany, this sealant is an acetic cure, one part silicone that cures at room temperature (RTV). It has a pasty consistency and can be applied onto complex flange shapes.
Cured Black Gasket Maker has a hardness of 30 Shore A so it can create a seal at relatively low bolt loads. It is also permanently elastic so that seal and bond integrity is maintained. Maximum elongation for this silicone is 500%.
Weicon Gasket Maker Black also has excellent temperature resistance. This high temperature silicone will withstand continuous exposure to environments between -60°C and +280°C. It will also handle short-term spikes up to 300°C.
One of the main benefits of this silicone is the excellent resistance to oils, grease and fuels. It is also UC stable, age-resistant and can be used indoors or outdoors. Our Black Gasket Maker creates strong bonds to and amongst most types of materials. It is highly compatible with steel, aluminium (and most other metals), glass, ceramic and many other types of surfaces.
