Our E140 EPDM Sponge Rubber Sheet is a closed cell sponge rubber sheet used for a variety of gasketing, sealing and vibration control applications.
This grade gets its’ name from the density of the material, 140 kg/m³. With its closed cell construction, it can be used to create water-tight, air-tight seals at relatively low bolt loads. A typical tight seal is achieved at around 10% compression.
EPDM sponge is great for use in outdoor sealing applications due to the superior UV and Ozone resistance the material offers. Aside from offering excellent weathering resistance, EPDM also features good flexibility, tensile strength and recovery properties. It is also compatible with water, solvents, and a range of chemicals. EPDM sponge is void and contaminant free, ensuring a very uniform cell structure.
This rubberised sponge sheeting is easy to cut and handle. It can withstand temperatures up to 90°C and is black in colour.
