3M 56 Polyester Tape is comprised of a 0.025mm thick layer of flexible polyester film backed with a rubber thermosetting adhesive. This tape has an overall thickness of 0.058mm, is yellow in colour, and represents an economical insulation option for electrical applications up to 130ºC.
3M 56 Polyester Tape has good dielectric strength and is highly conformable for smooth and even application to tight turns on conductors. Though incredibly thin, this tape has good physical strength which makes tight application possible without unwanted snapping.
Typically used as a layer insulation or as coil cover insulation, 3M 56 Polyester Film Tape can also be used for lead insulation or as a protective final insulation layer on cables and junctions.
The thermosetting adhesive used on this quality tape only increases in bond strength when exposed to heat. This means you can rely on our 3M 56 Polyester Film Tape to provide reliable, long lasting insulation throughout the warranty period (and likely more) of any electrical repairs.
