Associated Gaskets was recently able to play host to Norman Otto, Area Manager from Weicon international as he visited Australia. Norman is certified by DVS-PersZert®, the internationally acknowledged accreditation body for human resources in the field of bonding technologies and has many years of experience with all different kinds of adhesives, corrosion protection, sealants, locking, repair and assembly compounds.
During Norman’s two weeks in Australia we were lucky enough to have the opportunity for him to conduct a number of workshops at our Sydney head office to help bring us up to speed with a number of new products and solutions now being offered by Weicon. Some of these include new grades of flex 310 adhesives and sealants, a range of NSF certified technical sprays for use in sensitive food, beverage and pharmaceutical applications and some new sizing and innovative packaging options for existing products including the new W44T Multi-Spray lubricant.
In addition to speaking about new Weicon products, Norman also spent a great deal of his time travelling all over Australia to visit a number of customers who had expressed prior interest in learning more about Weicon’s extensive range and how these products may be able to assist them. These visits proved very valuable for all involved as Norman (and by extension Weicon) were able to learn first-hand about some of the unique challenges (such as high humidity’s impact on cyanoacrylate adhesives handling time) faced by customers in Australia while our customers were able to be given tailored, personal advice straight from the manufacturer of these products.
In addition to learning more, Norman was also able to provide more information on the capabilities of the new Weicon App which provides assistance in choosing the best adhesive, sealant, technical substance or repair compound for a specific application. He was also able to assist by providing on-site demonstrations of products in action and by giving customers samples to try in the future. Gauging by the feedback that we have already received, our customers also found their visit to be extremely fruitful.
