Top Ripple Spring Sheet are specially shaped sheets of fibreglass cloth that have been reinforced with epoxy resin and formed. This specialised material offers good electrical insulation performance coupled with high mechanical strength, good compression properties and is utilised in 155ºC (Class F) electrical applications.

AG’s Top Ripple Spring Sheets are generally used in large electrical rotating equipment where they provide a dampening force between the coils and slot wedges. For this application, the sheet is usually cut into strips to suit the dimension of the slot that are then inserted on top of the insulated coils. Slot wedges are then fit tightly into place on top of the top ripple spring which forces the spring to flatten.
