MOX-Tape® is a highly specialised grade of self-fusing silicone tape which is manufactured from a specially formulated grade of silicone rubber combined with a sinusoidal fibreglass fabric that gives a controlled elongation rate whilst simultaneously increasing the tear resistance of the tape. MOX-Tape® is available in two different series, SA which has a minimum elongation before fracture of 25% and SB which has a elongation of 15%.

MOX-Tape® silicone self-fusing tapes are used in applications where temperatures fall between -54ºC and 260ºC. They are non-tacky to the touch and will not adhere to surfaces or substrates other than themselves. These conformable tapes are used to form a irreversible insulating layer to that is resistant to moisture, corona, oxygen and ozone whilst also serving to protect wrapped components from electric current, heat and vibration. MOX-Tape® will cure in 24 hours at room temperature.

MOX-Tape® self-fusing silicone tapes are employed in a wide range of electrical and mechanical applications. They are particularly useful in situations which require a self-fusing insulation tape with enhanced mechanical strength. Both SA and SB MOX-Tapes® provide a uniform thickness around sharp edges. The fibreglass fabric, encapsulated inside the silicone, prevents wicking and helps maintain insulation resistance under high humidity conditions. The controlled stretch properties of these tapes also assist in ensuring a uniform insulation barrier is created.
