Silica Needle Felt Batt

Silica Needle Felt Batt

The BST-SIM Silica Needle Felt Batt is a premium industrial-grade thermal insulation material manufactured from high-purity (96%) silica fiberglass chopped strands. Produced through an advanced carding and mechanical needling process, this batt forms a uniform, dense, and exceptionally flexible insulation mat completely free of organic binders.

Engineered to operate reliably in continuous high-heat environments ranging from -40°C to +1000°C (with a melting point around ~1550°C), the BST-SIM series maintains its structural integrity and flexibility under extreme thermal shock. It features an excellent VW-1 flammability rating and exhibits minimal thermal shrinkage (≤13%) when exposed to elevated temperatures.

The Silica Needle Felt Batt is a high temperature insulation material manufactured from 96% pure silica fiberglass chopped strands. Produced through a carding and mechanical needling process, this batt yields a uniform, dense, and flexible mat.

It serves as an insulation layer designed for sandwiching between the front (hot side) and rear (cold side) layers of thermal insulation blankets, removable jackets, and protective curtains.

Key Features

  • Extreme Heat Resistance: Suitable for high-temperature operating environments with a very high melting point.
  • Pure Silica Composition: Manufactured using silica fiberglass chopped strands for optimal thermal integrity.
  • Flame Retardancy: Fully meets recognised flammability standards for maximum safety.
  • Low Thermal Shrinkage: Demonstrates excellent dimensional stability and low shrinkage under extreme thermal exposure.
  • Easy Processing: Can be conveniently cut and shaped on-site using standard scissors or basic cutting tools.

Application

  • Sandwich insulation between hot and cold side layers of blankets and curtains
  • Removable insulation pads for welding stress relieving
  • Furnace and oven wall gap insulation
  • Removable pipe insulation jackets
  • Gas and steam turbine power generating equipment blankets
