Marigold 921 Packing is a very economical, general service packing plait braided from a mix of flax and ramie fibres which are thoroughly impregnated with a proprietary tallow and wax lubricant. This packing is commonly used in marine applications where its combination of low cost, low friction and ease of use are beneficial.
Marigold 921 Packing is used in pump and valve applications with temperatures as high as 105ºC, shaft speeds of 5 MPS and pressures of 10 BAR. It offers moderate resistance to chemicals (used only with mediums falling between 5-9 pH) and good resistance to cold water, sea water and cold oils. These properties have seen Marigold 921 used extensively in marine applications such as in stern bearings and rudder posts or in the paper & pulp and wastewater industries.
Available Sizes
Marigold 921 Packing is available in sizes ranging from 3.2mm² through to 25.4mm² as standard with other sizes able to be provided upon request. AG also offers our Marigold 921G which is a similar packing with lower friction due to the addition of a graphite lubricant.
For more information on either of these, or any other grade in our comprehensive range of Marigold Packings, please do not hesitate to contact your local AG branch.
