Isonom NKN 0887 is a flexible composite insulation material that displays high tensile strength and high tear resistance whilst also maintaining high electrical strength. Consisting of a layer of Kapton polyimide film which is coated on both sides with calendared Nomex insulation paper, Isonom NKN 0887 is mainly used as slot liner, slot closure and phase insulation in high thermally-stressed electric motors.
Compared to other grades of NKN stocked by AG, Isonom NKN 0887 has a higher proportion of Nomex™ paper in its construction which is ideal for lower voltage machines as it offers more impregnability, higher mechanical strength and greater abrasion resistance.
This grade has a smooth surface that allows for trouble free manufacture of low voltage machines where coil inserting machines are used. With a thermal classification of class H (for applications up to 180°C) Isonom NKN 0887 is also used as interlayer insulation in transformers and other electrical machines and appliances.
Available Sizes
Isonom NKN 0887 is available from AG in 0.30mm thickness. The material is stocked in roll form measuring 900mm wide x 50mtrs long but is usually supplied either by the metre, converted to slit tapes, or in custom component form.
AG’s extensive fabrication facilities can accurately cut this material with little set up time and no minimum order quantity. This offers the benefits of reduced material wastage on your end and a significant labour saving during installation.
