Calmicaglas 0409 Resin Rich Insulation Tape is a highly flexible electrical insulation tape manufactured from a combination of calcined mica paper, glass cloth and a thermosetting epoxy novolac.  This tape is actually identical to our Calmicaglas 2005 but is supplied without the interleaf making it especially suitable for machine taping devices.

Like Calmicaglas 2005, 0409 offers excellent dielectric, thermal, mechanical and chemical resistance characteristics is used for the insulation of bars and coils on high voltage machines. It is also used for the production of moulded parts (such as commutator caps, tubes and cylinders) as it cures to form a solid mass with outstanding dielectric strength.

Compared to Calmicaglas 0893, both Calmicaglas 0409 and 2005 exhibit a lower resin flow when pressed. Calmicaglas 0409 Resin Rich Insulation Tape is utilised in applications with a thermal classification of 155ºC or below.

Available Sizes

This high quality, flexible electrical insulation product is available in a number of different thicknesses (standards are 0.12mm, 0.18mm, 0.21mm and 0.24mm). Full rolls are 1000mm wide and 50 mtrs long though slit tapes are also available in both standard and custom widths. Our in-house slitting facilities allow us to offer Calmicaglas 0409 in whatever custom width is required while standard tape widths are listed below:
