PROTOTYPING

Whether the component you need to replace is too badly damaged to be able to be reproduced accurately or you are a product engineer developing a new product from scratch, chances are you will need a prototype for testing.

Associated Gaskets has a long history of working with designers to bring their prototypes to life. Our in-house design team works closely with our customers to suggest the best way to manufacture their prototype at the lowest cost. Using the latest CAD software, we are able to rapidly produce mock-ups and drawings while simultaneously working with you to identify the best possible material or material combinations for your needs. During this process we can provide any technical literature required prior to manufacture to ensure that you are happy with every aspect of your design.

Most importantly we have the tools to get the job done in-house. Our production areas feature state of the art flat-bed and multi-axis cutting equipment, hi-powered saws, drills, mills, lathes, slitting and CNC machining equipment. Of course, we’re not quite able to automate everything so we’re very lucky to also have a great team of skilled and experienced operators that can work quickly without sacrificing accuracy. Put simply, you can trust that we have the capability to ensure your finished prototype works exactly as you designed it.

RAPID REVERSE ENGINEERING

AG has a reputation for rapidly reverse engineering all kinds of components. If you need a part reproduced quickly, simply call us up and we will work with you to ensure the finished part is back in your hands in the shortest time possible. We understand the time constraints sometimes faced by our customers, which is why our lead times are the most flexible in the industry!

One thing we have learned over the decades is that blindly reproducing a sample can often be a recipe for disaster. In some cases, the reason a new part is needed is because the old one failed and if we were to reproduce using the exact same material and design, chances are the new part would fail too.

To combat this, our design team will work closely with you to understand all the requirements of the component and its operating conditions to identify any areas where improvements are required. We are committed to ensuring that our customers are happy with all areas of the design before we commit to production which can sometimes include providing complimentary samples in order to check sizing, etc.
