VA 8406 super glue has a very fast cure time and is designed for the bonding of numerous rubber materials (it is especially suitable for bonding EPDM) and plastics. Clear in colour, Weicon Contact Adhesive VA 8406 has a low viscosity (20-50 mPa·s) and is used (without filler) for covering gaps no larger than 0.1mm.

Part of the Ethyl Ester group of Weicon Contact Adhesives, Weicon VA 8406 Adhesive is used in applications where temperatures fall between -50ºC and 80ºC (with short-term spikes up to 100ºC).  Like all Weicon Contact Adhesives, VA 8406 polymerises by reacting with moisture on both the bonding surface and from the air before curing under light pressure.

If using Weicon VA 8406 Contact Adhesive to bond polyolefines (e.g. polyethylene, polypropylene), silicones or PTFE the surface should be pre-treated with Weicon Contact Adhesive Primer. Failure to do so will means that the Contact Adhesive cannot anchor itself to the plastic and a strong bond will be unable to form. It is suggested that users familiarise themselves with the TDS for this product before use.

Weicon VA 8406 Contact Adhesive is available from AG in 12gm, 30gm, 60gm and 500gm packs. The 3 smaller sizes make use of Weicon’s proprietary pen system which allows for incredibly accurate, easy application, clean processing and improved dosing. The 500gm is supplied in a tube.
