Blackmar is a economical general-purpose gasket material offered by AG for medium temperature and pressure environments. This compressed fibre material is produced from a blend of aramid and mineral fibres that are secured with an NBR binder. Black in colour, Blackmar has non-stick surfaces which assist with disassembly of a sealed flange for any future maintenance and is used in applications with continuous operating temperatures of up to 350ºC or 260ºC in steam (these temperatures are for guidance purposes only, exact resistance depends on application conditions, pressure and media being sealed).

Blackmar offers excellent resistance to a wide range of mediums and is used for sealing fuels, oils, gases, hydrocarbons and lubricants. This high quality material is also highly effective with steam and water and can withstand attack from alcohols and moderate organic and inorganic acids. Blackmar is often utilised in natural gas applications and meets the requirements of BS7531 (Grade X) and DuPont Specification G-81 UDT.

Blackmar Gasket Material is available from AG in standard sheets of either 3100mm / 1550mm or 1550mm². This quality product is offered in standard thicknesses ranging from 0.25mm through to 3mm as standard with other sheet sizes and thicknesses available upon request.

Custom gaskets, strips and components made from Blackmar can be easily and quickly arranged by contacting your local AG branch. We’ll be happy to assist with any questions you have about this material’s suitability for your application and will work with you to ensure that the cut gasket you order will be exactly correct for its intended use.
